Pulsed Magnet Systems
Cryogenic Ltd in joint collaboration with Metis Instruments & Equipment is now offering Pulsed Magnets for fields up to 40 Tesla and 50 T for energies ranging from 50 kJoule to 500kJ.
The standard Pulsed Magnet System (PMS) is based on a 150 kJ capacitor bank. This system can generate fields of 40 T in a 20mm bore or up to 50 T in a 15 mm bore. The half-way sine wave pulse duration ranges from 40 ms to 10ms, respectively.
The magnets are suited for a large number of scientific experiments - magneto-transport, magnetisation, optical transmission, luminescence.. These systems can be equipped with a wide range of top-loading cryostats: from flow cryostats to dilution refrigerators. This allows the user to perform high-precision measurements from room temperature down to the millikelvin range at very high B/T values. With the thyristor switched power supply these magnets have proven to give low noise, allowing sensitive experiments, even for measurements of derivative signals such as magnetisation (dH-vA oscillations).
Cryogenic can supply a range of experimental cryostats with temperatures covering the range 1.6K to 300K, 0.3K to 100K or 0.02K to 10K to fit into pulsed magnets.
